so i downloaded VMWare Workstation, and i want to set up my own virtual machine, how do I install an Operating System into my Virtual Machine? I put the Windows XP Home Edition CD into my CD-ROM, and I click on start virtual machine, but it cannot detect any bootable devices…why is that, any help, thanks

January 28th, 2010The virtual machine converter from VMware will go from Microsoft virtual machine to VMware, but not the other way around.
There are some tricks to convert the virtual hard drive over to Microsoft Virtual Server, but here is the catch.
Microsoft and VMware virtualize different hardware configurations, so depending on the operating system inside of the image you may have difficulty getting the machine to boot properly.
If you are trying to convert the images from the application vault one way to do it is use a tool to mount the images as a drive on your machine, then use that drive to create the virtual server machine image.

December 19th, 2009This is my dilemma.I have one computer,one NIC card.I want to have two different ip addreses running at the same time.I have windows XP.and i am using a wireless connection in college.The campus router assigns ip addreses according to the mac address.
