Why Can’t I Change How Much Ram Vmware Uses?

February 10th, 2010 Leave a reply »

When I go into prefs, I would like to increase the amount of RAM being used while running windows but it’s all greyed out. In fact everything in preferences is completely unchangeable. How can I fix this?

  1. Mercuri says:

Shut down the virtual machine first.
You can’t have the virtual machine suspended. It needs to be powered off completely.
Then I’m out of ideas. >.< Just be sure it’s “Powered off” and not “suspended”. It won’t let you change options if the machine is running at all.
