How To Edit Vmware Configuration Files.?

Im trying to install another operating system on to my older laptop because windows just isn’t cutting it anymore. I tried to install the operating system however the operating system doesn’t detect and i am unable to get to the intall screen and i am sure it has somthing to do with the VMware Configuration files I am wondering where these are so i am able to edit them to my specifications.

    Open VMware and click on the Help Tab to learn how to install new OSes.
