I have an online class this year at school, and in order to login to the online program, I must install a plug-in. This plug-in is only compatible with Windows and Mac. I run Linux, so is there any way that I can make a virtual machine of Windows without having to buy the Windows installation CD? I have my computer dual booted with Windows and Linux Ubuntu, but I spend most of my time in Linux. Is there a way to boot my existing Windows OS into an application window in Linux?
I have VirtualBox to run my other virtual machines.
Any help would be great thanks, I will give everyone a point for answering. Unless the answer has nothing to do with the question.

In my opinion it would be easier to just reboot and login into windows if you have a dual boot configuration. ( Ability to use windows apps — that’s the reason for dual booting isn’t it?)
I think you must buy the installation disc for windows if you want to have a legal virtual machine. Either set up a virtual machine, or, if that “plugin” is for Internet Explorer, then you can install IE4Linhttp://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/pageā¦
This MAY work. It’s worth a shot. Download a browser (firefox, seamonkey, opera, etc). Get the windows exe version, and install the browser into wine’s virtual c drive. Then open that browser and install the needed plug-in.
If that doesn’t work, you will need the windows cd to install in VMware or something similar. Also, keep an eye on reactOS, once it’s internet ready, you’ll never have to worry about this again.
Get Xen Virtualisation
Xen is available for most LINUX
Run Linux as a host OS for Xen and Windows as a guest OS
