I had my USB drive connected to my mac, and I had running a virtual machine running windows 7. I attempted to copy a folder from this virtual machine to my usb, connected to mac os x, not the virtual machine. Then, it gave me an error saying it could not complete copying (I didn’t really think too much of it at this point) but then my USB drive was no longer an icon on the desktop, and it’s LED light was turned off, unlike usual. I restarted my mac and plugged it in again. It does not show any signs that it recognizes it, and did not yell at me for not pressing eject first when I took out the USB drive. I then plugged it into my Windows laptop (which it does work in, usually). It recognizes that there is a device connected, but when I click on it [Removable disk (D:)] it says “Please insert disk into Removable Disk (D:).
I have no idea what to do. If anyone has a suggestion, I’d gladly try it, since I’d like this USB to work so I can get my school assignment that I planned on working on today.
