A have a vendor that I need to do some work on a customer’s Windows 2003 Standard server. He is asking me if it is a VMware client. How can I be sure if it is or not?

when you logon to the server, in the lower right hand corner (the system tray) there will normally be a VMWARE Icon (three interlocking blue squares). The other option is to go into the services and check & see if the VMWARE services are running (VMWARE Tools Service, etc)
Ask the customer if he’s running it under VMWare
